NaNoWriMo

Learn more about our NaNoWriMo events

Our goal for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is to encourage and celebrate creative writing efforts!

Worried that you can't write a whole novel in a month? Maybe you're not interested in writing a novel at all, but you just want to write? Our NaNoWriMo events are not limited to novels. Please come join us if you would like to work on a children’s book, documenting a family oral history, an autobiography, a short story or a poetry goal in the month of November.

Participants who come to two out of the three events will be entered into a drawing to win a prize!

So come join us for the National Novel Writing Month events during November at the Nevada Public Library.

How it works: In October, plan your novel (or gather it back up) and sign up on the National Novel Writing Month website at https://nanowrimo.org/.

We will meet on November 2nd for National Novel Writing Month kick-off.  On November 18th, we’ll meet again to check progress and work out the kinks.  On November 30th, we’ll meet one last time to brag about writing progress made during the month of November!

If you have a project that doesn’t meet the definition of a “novel”, no worries!  Come anyway and make progress on your project.

The library website will have a series of hand-outs and weblinks you might find helpful for your writing efforts during the month of November.

Come and join the fun!
