Come discuss a book with other literary-minded adults while supporting a local Nevada business. This group meets the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm at George's Bar.
"The Tattooist of Auschwitz" is a re-creation of the story of Lale Sokolov, a Slovakian Jew sent to the concentration camps at Auschwitz-Birkenau. Because he speaks several languages, Lale is put to work as a tattooist, permanently marking his fellow prisoners with numbers. Despite being subject and witness to horrific atrocities, he meets a woman named Gita and vows to survive to marry her one day. Vivid and harrowing, this novel is a testament to the endurance of love and humanity even during the darkest times.
