Want to get rid of your library fines? All you have to do is read! Check into the library meeting room with your library card number, and every 15 minutes that you read will equal $1 off your fines. You can read anything! Books, newspapers, magazines, ebooks, graphic novels, etc. You do not need to be present for the entire 2 hours to participate, and you are free to attend multiple days. You are welcome to stop in and leave at any time during the program’s duration, and your total reading time and waived fines will be calculated based on the times you check in and out. If you have outstanding overdue items on your account, they must be returned or marked as lost before you can read down fines for those items. Call 515-382-2628 or ask a library staff member for more information.
