Guidelines for checking out library equipment

EQUIPMENT USE POLICY
Nevada Public Library
July 19, 2004

Public Policy

Patrons of the Nevada Public Library may check out library equipment under the following terms.

· 18 years old or older with valid Nevada Public Library card
· Equipment will be returned to the library in the same condition as checked out
· 2 day check out period
· $5 deposit which will be returned when equipment is returned in appropriate condition
· $1 per day late fee
· Patron will be responsible for repairs if equipment is returned damaged
· Staff will test equipment before loaning to patrons and again upon its return.

Equipment:

· Overhead projector
· Portable projector screen
· Portable public address system


In-Library Use Policy:

Certain equipment may be used by patrons within the library under the following conditions. Patrons use equipment at their own risk. Patrons must:

· Have a valid Nevada Public Library card
· Use equipment in designated areas in the library
· Remain in the library
· Inform staff when finished with the equipment
· Leave the equipment in the same condition as when borrowed

· VCR player
· DVD player
· Cassette player
· Public use computers (see computer policies)
· Calculator

City Staff Use Policy:
 
City Staff members may borrow library equipment for use outside of the library under the following conditions.

· Use must be legitimate city business approved by department head
· Equipment will be checked out on the department’s card
· Equipment will be returned to the library in the same condition as checked out
· Department will be responsible for the equipment while in its possession
· Department will be responsible for any repairs
· 2 day check out
· Staff will test equipment before loaning to patrons and again upon its return.
